Jaguar, Panther, Tiger, Leopard, Snow Leopard, Lion, Mountain Lion, Mavericks? Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, Kit Kat?
A polite request: can we please agree to refer to software versions by number and not by code name? Seriously, who can remember these random sequences? Code names are for developers.

Your request will not be fulfilled for a variety of reasons.
Reminder: Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 are all internally version 6.

I dunno, I feel like numbers are a lot harder to remember, cognitively, in terms of what is really means…I feel like a combo of name + number could work
or go the chrome route - always update so you don’t care about ‘versions’ anymore
orrrrrr, just use more badass names like ‘blood eagle 2.3.4’

Heh. With Mac software, I frequently encounter phrases like “Lion or later.” What’s greater than Lion? If Mountain Lions and Mavericks both ate Lions, that would be more OK I guess.
I second the use of more badass code names. We could learn a lot from heavy metal bands, who have really refined the science.
